This is a "very good -" or better vintage hardcover in maroon paper wrapped boards. No torn, folded, loose or significantly creased pages unless specified below. NOT ex-library. Will not contain underlining or highlighting unless called out below in item specifics. Dust jacket included if shown in images and issued with one, unless noted.First edition, published in 1969 by Windmill Books.
Many, many luscious color illustrations by William Steig. You will receive the book shown in the accompanying images. ITEM SPECIFICS: Text block closes tightly, is a little mis-aligned along upper and lower edges, published that way, not significant but noticeable if you look. Board corners are mildly bumped, with some wear to the tips, but not worn through. Board color is relatively uniform with exception that there is what looks to be a light damp stain running more or less parallel along the outer edge of the front board - see images. Spine very gently tanned. The boards are mildly rounded left to right, as perhaps the book was shelved incorrectly. Original owner name inside front end paper, otherwise, no writing apparent. Decoration and titling on front cover and spine crisp. There are a few very light reading creases on some pages and a few light, small spots in one or two places. This book does show a little wear, but truly, it is still much more crisp than the majority of loved children's books of this vintage! See accompanying images for full condition details.Wonderfully enchanting! Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
