Published circa 1901 by A.L. Burt.

Octavo in red cloth wrapped boards, glossy black and white frontispiece with rice paper protector, gold embossed titling on the front cover and spine, cloth head and tail band in binding, gilt upper text block edge, 363 pages.

This is a "good plus" antique book with a solid but slightly frail binding with intact hinges. There are no loose, torn or folded pages. No writing, aside from a neatly quill-penned Christmas inscription on second front free end paper (see accompanying images). The text block closes tightly and is relatively square. The gilt on the upper edge is mostly intact, some slight wear or spotting. The board corners are mildly bumped, all with wear to the cloth, the lower back edge of the back board has a 1" long split in the cloth with board exposed. The spine head and heel are worn with the cloth frayed, cloth on the spine is somewhat tanned. The front and back boards retain their original color with the front displaying more spotting than the back. Lettering on the front cover is bright, with the lettering on the spine being faded.

Not a perfect book, but still very presentable and pleasing. It will make a most welcome addition to your collection, shelf or mantle.

Will ship promptly, carefully packaged and fully insured.
