The Wild Party Early American print #1276 of 2000 limited copies
Published in 1929 by Covici, Friede of New York, copyrighted 1928.
Early printing dated 1929 on title page, with statement "This trade edition is limited to two thousand numbered copies" and hand penned "1276" at opposite the last page of text.
8vo, coarse tan cloth wrapped boards, deckled out edge, cloth head and foot band, heavy cotton textured paper, does not contain illustrations, 120 pages.
This is a "good" or a little better vintage hardcover with a solid spine. No loose, torn or folded pages. There is an insert between pages 22 and 23 showing an errata or addition to the text as presented in this printing versus the previous. Pages are lightly tanned along all edges. No writing nor plates. The upper board corners are fairly square with just some mild wear on tips, bottom corners are bumped, with front cloth worn through to underlying board. Spine has 1" split with some loss at top front cover edge, spine tail has loss across the base about 1/2" high (see accompanying images). This is not a perfect book, but still quite pleasing with a clean text block and early text. Will make for an unusual gift or interesting addition to your collection.
