The Lord of the Rings J.R.R. Tolkien 3 book vintage set
All published in 1963, FoTR being the 13th printing, and Towers and RoTK being 10th printings (when originally released, there was about a 12 month gap in publishing).
In 1965, Tolkien and his publishers released the "revised" edition of The Lord of the Rings due to some issue maintaining copyright.
This set includes three matched books all from 1963, so with the exception of any small changes that happened between printings so as to fix typesetting errors, these books contain the text of Tolkien's masterpiece as it was when it originally went to press some 10 years earlier.
These books have mileage. The Two Towers is the only one with a map (see accompanying images), and it is removed from the book and has scotch tape ghosts all around. You can see where the maps were removed from the books, in all cases having left damage to the paste down. Spines are intact, albeit week. The gutters are not split although front gutter of "King" is split at the top perhaps 15-20% of the way. All show fair amount of wear to cloth on corners and spine edges and bottoms. Some random short notations inside the end papers.
So, not perfect by any stretch, but a matched set and still cool for what they are. Look closely at all of the pictures and decide if you are ok with what they are.
Will ship promptly, well packaged and fully insured.
