"Memoirs of a Russian Lady" First edition Mariamna Davydoff Pre-Revolutionary Russia vintage hardcover
Written and illustrated by Mariamna Davydoff and published in the United States by Abrams in 1986.
Large format book with blue paper wrapped boards, cloth head and tail band, 159 pages with family tree in the back, glossy pages, profusely illustrated with 82 of the author's artwork, all in full color,
This is a "very good plus" vintage hardcover with a tight binding and hinges. There is no writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. There is a grouping of light linear scuffs on the front free end paper covering an area of maybe about a quarter in size. The text block is sagged at the outer edge, as is typical of long, landscape shaped volumes that have spent decades standing on a shelf. It closes tightly, the edges are uniform in color and free from scuffs or marks, with just the slightest hint of little tiny specks in a few places on the top, probably from dust.
The original vintage dust jacket has no tears, creases or marks. A little bit of rippling at the extreme edges. Not price clipped. Some surface wear on glossy surface. An above average vintage wrapped indeed.
This gorgeous volume, filled with nostalgic and romantic artwork, will make a unique gift for the historian, folk art fan or or just plain book lover in your tribe!
