"The Lithographs of Thomas Hart Benton", compiled by Creekmore Fath, and published in 1979 by the University of Texas Press. First edition, being the only book to contain the entire 95 lithograph catalog of Mr. Benton! This is a "very good +" gray cloth bound book. The board corners are sharp, not bumped or worn. The cloth board's surfaces are almost entirely free from any blemishes or scuffs, just a hint of surface wear at corners and flex points of the spine top and bottom. Some light foxing on the top edge of the tight, square text block; outer edge clear and bright; bottom edge clear with a hint of speckling at spine from what looks like a little excess binding glue. No writing or tears or folds internally. Pages bright. Paper a rich mat surface. Verso page does not show any additional printings, indicating as per McBrides Identification of First Editions, shows this to be a first edition. The original dust wrapper shows original publishers price of $24.95 inside front flap. A little foxing on both flaps. A little edge wear at flap folds and spine edges. 1 1/2" closed tear on back cover near outer edge. The jacket is now protected in a removable archival sleeve for proper presentation. Wonderful, amazing book! Contains all of the lithographs the Mr. Benton produced in his 85 years including the 12 he completed shortly before his death in 1975.
