By Francis Milton, 2nd printing, dated 1911 (first was 1909), published by the L.C. Page Co. of Boston Massachusetts.

380 pages, including index and at least two fold out maps.

This is a simply stunning antique hardcover travel guide.

It sports a gorgeous gilt top text block and is absolutely loaded with illustrations! Included are at least 2 fold out maps and several full page color plates covered with vellum.

One item that is interesting to me is that the title of the images is printed on the accompanying vellum protecting page - I have never seen that myself.

The book binding is crisp and tight, with intact hinges / gutters, no writing, names or plates, no turned down page corners. The board corners are square, with some very slight wear at extreme tips. Some general light surface wear / marks, with a very light moisture spot on the from cover, a little smaller than a dime, near the "A" in "A Motor Car" (see images). Spine head and heel are lightly bumped with the front and back board edges closest to spine being ever so slightly bumped. Text block is bright, with little sign of tanning, the text block top edge gilding is bright, with just a few linear lines marring the surface. Spine shows a hint of being tanned and the back cover mat surface shows a few very light smudges when held to the light.

Overall, a really, really super nice vintage decorated book.

This is a fairly scarce title, and the stunning condition of this copy makes for a unique opportunity!
