A "very good" vintage hardcover in a matching "good" original dust wrapper published by Grosset and Dunlap in 1948.

Binding and hinges are crisp. The black tinting at the text block head somewhat sunned at outer edge. The board corners are fairly crisp with the front upper lightly worn. Front board decoration and spine titling is crisp and complete. Text block closes tightly. Spine head and tail edges lightly bumped. An X-mass inscription is penciled on front free end paper and a name on back one, other wise no writing. A handful of page corners are creased.

Matching dust jacket shows heavy wear with large loss at the tail of the spine. Also some loss along the bottom back and at the flap folds. Will arrive in a removable archival sleeve.

See images for complete condition details.

Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.

Using Carpentieri's guide, I am able to identify this copy as what he labels a "1948A-15", meaning it is the first printing of 1948 and the 15th overall printing of the title. The first printing was in 1937. This edition features the original text and cover artwork.
