This is a "very good" hardcover in red cloth wrapped boards published in 1929 by Grosset and Dunlap, with semi-glossy black and white frontispiece, 350 pages..The binding is intact with solid gutters, not cracked. There are no loose, torn or folded pages. Aside from an owner name neatly penned on front end paper, no writing. Text block closes evenly and tightly, lightly tanned and somewhat thumbed on the outer edge. Cloth on covers shows some moisture spotting (?) on outer edges, more so on the back cover. The original vintage dust jacket features the artwork from the first edition originally published by AC McClurg. It shows some edge wear and losses at the spine top, smaller on the bottom. Some closed short tears along edges. Spine is somewhat tanned. Chipping at the flap fold corners. Not clipped. Front cover art is still bright and dynamic, reminds of Frank Frazetta - likely he was influenced by ERB's cover artist of this time. Now in a removable archival sleeve.Fun, early copy of a classic jungle adventure! Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
