"The Annotated Tales of Edgar Allan Poe" with introduction, notes and bibliography by Stephen Peithman. Published circa 1989 or 1990 by Avenel.

Large format hardcover with maroon paper wrapped boards over blue cloth wrapped spine, cloth head and tail band in binding, unadorned endpapers, profusely illustrated throughout with vintage illustrations, where known, credited in marginal notes, creme pages, 685 pages including bibliography.

This is a "very good" or better vintage hardcover with a solid binding and crisp board hinges. No loose, torn, or folded pages. A gift inscription dated to 1990 inside front free end paper, otherwise no writing. Text block closes tightly, is square and bright, with just a hint of dusting/foxing at the top edge at the spine. Top board corners are unbumped, lower, perhaps ever so slightly and with a little edge wear along lower side. Titling on the spine is crisp, upper and lower spine edges bumped, some bit of wear on the cloth.

The original vintage dust jacket is bright, "very good plus", no signs of tanning or sunning, little to no edge wear apparent. A few light speckles in a spot or two of surface rubbing, price clipped inside front flap, tiniest bit of chipping perhaps at a flap fold corner or two. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve for proper presentation and protection (hence the reflections in the images). A superlative cover overall.

Super sweet vintage volume! Will make for a great literary gift or addition to your own shelf.

Will ship promptly, carefully packaged and fully insured.
