"I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson, published in 1964 by Bantam in updated cover art. First edition thus. Originally released in 1954, this novel went on to become the basis for three film adaptations: >> "The Last Man on Earth", starring Vincent Price in 1964 (which was likely the impetus for this printing of the book) >> "The Omega Man" starring Charlton Heston in 1971 >> "I Am Legend" starring Will Smith in 2007 (if you saw it and didn't care for it, I suggest getting your hands on the alternate cut, which has an entirely different ending and is a much more satisfying version than the theatrical release - really). This novel was actually an inspiration for George Romero's original "Night of the Living Dead" in 1968. It might be said that this book is the progenitor of the whole "zombie apocalypse" book and film genre. This is a "very good" vintage paperback with a solid spine, not creased or rolled. No loose, folded or torn pages. An original owner's inscription inside the front cover, otherwise no writing. No turned down corners. Text block edges all relatively even and free from scuffs, etc. Rather tanned on edges and internally. Has a blue tag scotch taped to the lower portion of the spine. Overall, very satisfying. See accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, well packaged.
