By Watty Piper, and featuring art by the renowned children's illustrator of the period Eulalie, published circa 1928 by The Platt and Munk Company of New York.

A "very good" vintage hardcover book with cloth covered boards and a pictorial front cover paste down. There is no writing, no torn or folded pages, no loose pages, the binding cover gutters are solid. There is one small tear in the front cover paste down near the bottom of the cover. There is an irregular "stain"/spot on the center of the back board cloth that appears to have been from slight moisture exposure at one time.

This book shows copyright of 1925 and 1928, with no subsequent dates or printings indicated. It may be the first printing of 1928, but I cannot determine that with certainty, as Platt and Munk did not indicate printings in their publications. Based upon my research, it appears that the red cloth boards were design of the earliest printings of this volume, and the overall construction method and paper in the book places it to the Twenties.

Overall, really nice vintage children's book featuring the artwork of Eulalie - according to one source, her first work for the American readers. (She also did a highly regarded edition of Mother Goose, likely her best known work.)
